Com 15 deputadas, o parlamento terá o maior número de representantes femininas da história, mas elas ainda são minoria.
Com 15 mulheres eleitas deputadas estaduais, a Assembleia Legislativa de Minas Gerais (ALMG) terá a maior bancada feminina da sua história a partir de 2023. Seis dessas conseguiram a reeleição, enquanto outras nove terão seu primeiro mandato. A deputada Beatriz Cerqueira (PT) chegará ao segundo mandato como a mais votada entre as mulheres e, com quase 250 mil votos, foi a segunda mais votada este ano para o cargo.
Além dela, retornam à ALMG na 20ª Legislatura (fevereiro de 2023 a janeiro de 2027): Leninha (PT), Ione Pinheiro (União), Delegada Sheila (PL), Andréia de Jesus (PT) e Ana Paula Siqueira (Rede).
As novas deputadas serão Lohanna (PV), Lud Falcão (Pode), Macaé Evaristo (PT), Nayara Rocha (PP), Bella Gonçalves (PSOL), Maria Clara Marra (DC), Alê Portela (PL), Chiara Biondini (PP) e Marli Ribeiro (PSC).
Embora o número de mulheres continue proporcionalmente baixo na Casa, 2023 entra para a história como recorde da presença delas. O recorde anterior, alcançado nas eleições de 2003 e de 2018, era de 10 mulheres eleitas para o parlamento estadual.
Porém, a atual legislatura chegou a 2022 com apenas nove dessas 10 eleitas ainda no cargo, já que Marília Campos (PT) renunciou depois de ser eleita prefeita de Contagem (Região Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte) em 2020.
É importante ressaltar que o número total de vagas para deputados estaduais em Minas Gerais oscilou, ao longo dos tempos: 82 cadeiras na 5ª e na 6ª Legislaturas; 61 cadeiras na 8ª Legislatura; 78 cadeiras na 10ª Legislatura; e 77 cadeiras da 11ª Legislatura em diante.
