Na última quinta-feira, 08 de setembro, foi sancionada a lei que proíbe o manuseio, a utilização, a soltura e a queima de fogos de artifício em Belo Horizonte - MG. A lei foi publicada no Diário Oficial do Município e já está em vigor, desde o dia da sua homologação. A partir de agora, o cidadão que descumprir com a lei estará passível de multa. Uma vitória para todos os tutores e também para os pets no entorno da capital.
Segundo a equipe médica veterinária da Clínica Habitat, os animais são extremamente sensíveis ao barulho e, dependendo da altura que eles emitem, em alguns casos pode levar até mesmo ao óbito do animal. Cães e gatos são os que mais sofrem, no entanto, as aves e os roedores também sentem estresse elevado, tremores, aumento da agressividade e ansiedade como consequências causadas através da queima de fogos de artifício.
Para os que ainda não sabem, uma lei parecida já foi aprovada no município de Mariana-MG. Em defesa do estatuto do idoso, da pessoa com deficiência e também das normas de proteção à vida animal, já é proibido a queima de fogos de artifício no município histórico. No entanto, por ser uma cidade com muitos católicos, a soltura de fogos de estampido e de artifício ainda é permitida em feriados e celebrações religiosas.
